Project proposal

Background:
In different civilizations, there are different patterns of recording time and events. In ancient times, people painted stories on the walls, recorded things in sculpture, and then evolved into descriptions in writing. With the development of technology, this series of narratives has become traditional. To modern people to record things in the way of new media, photography and photography. But some of the historical monuments we see still remain in the pattern of sculpture and painting in the past.

How can digital and spatial techniques be used to create the urban intervention, to provide a better experience of visiting Melbourne's city?

Contexts: Human development is a process of continuous promotion, as same as the development of time that will only go forward. When history becomes traces recorded in descriptive form, we should also generate a new method of time expression that present is constantly becoming the past.

Motivation: The traditional exhibition is located inside the museum and art gallery. Intend to provide a better visitor experience for the tourists who are travelling in the central city, this project is engaging to combine the exhibition function into the main street of Melbourne City - Swanston st. Through a new form of media display, an immersive experience is provided for the audience while they are visiting the small exhibition space on the street.

Main Points:
1. combine the visualization technique and sound installation within the internal space.
2. an immersive experience for the visitors/tourists, a new memorial hall for the Melbourne citizens.
3. shape of the exhibition hall is different base on the surrounding environment and conditions, intend to create different sounds effect in each chosen site. It leads to creating different memory points and fragment while the visitors walking on the main street of the city.
